Identity Safe no longer supports Chrome on Android Smartphones

After two hours of support, and escalation to second level support, I found out that Chrome is no longer a supported browser on Android phones.  Identity Safe does not work, and the built-in browser with Identity Safe must be used.  They are working on a fix in a later update.

I am seeing no interaction between Chrome and ID Safe on my HTC phone. So it is not just your device. Something has changed with either Norton or Chrome.

I'm waiting to hear from my contacts. Stay tuned, but don't hold your breath...wink

Likely all Chrome iterations are going the same direction. The last Chrome update I have was 2 days ago, but it wasn’t working before that update. I tried uninstalling all chrome updates, and identity safe still doesn’t work. Maybe I need to initialize something again to have it see the 6 month old chrome version, but it didn’t work just downgrading chrome. Thanks for any help.

I'm wondering if there have been changes with the Chrome browser for Android, like there have been with the Windows version. Those changes for Windows caused major rewrites for browser extensions.

I'll see if I can get some comment from my Norton contacts. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

After the last major update about a week ago. There have been a couple of recent updates. Everything was working fine, now nothing. The built in identity safe browser still works, but chrome has no evident connection. I have started using chrome remember password, etc, but would rather stick with Norton. Looks like identity safe is low in norton priorities. And they never test the releases or notify of major changes like stopping supporting existing platforms. Horrible communication!

norton called me today again, and said they would again connect me to second level support. After 20 minutes, they said support would not help because they currently do not support chrome. Another waste of my and norton's time.

How long ago did you notice the change?
