Identity Safe Problems

Hello All

I am new to Norton Internet Security 2011 and, am very pleased with the product. However, I am experiencing a problem with the Identity Safe in relation to two web sites, all my other regular sites I visit Norton logs me in automatically. Below are the two sites in question and, I wonder if someone with the same program would visit the two sites to see if they can get Norton to auto login.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Kmreece,

Welcome to Norton Community!

Run LiveUpdate repeatedly until you get all the updates, and then restart the computer. Check in View > Toolbars and make sure thatNorton Toolbar is checked. If the problem persists, you may need to uninstall and reinstall NIS 2010 program.

Yogesh

I ran LU and got 4 updates.  Ran it a few more times and repeatedly received the Complete, you are up to date.  Shutdown.  Rebooted, and launched IE8, have the Norton Safe toolbar but no Identity Safe.  Same situation for Mozilla FF.  Here is my NIS status.  I can't Logout of IS.

Try turn off Identity Safe, restart the computer and turn it on again.

fwiw ~ I have a registered account with Tech Support Guy.  So, easy for me to chime in.

From > http://forums.techguy.org/   > Login goes to  > http://www.techguy.org/login.html

I manually Login from http://www.techguy.org/login.html   (manual is my preference)

I changed my ID Safe login setting from manual to auto fill and auto fill populated my my login data ok.

fwiw ~ sometimes with ID safe I've had to initially manually create a New Login scenario.

from http://forums.techguy.org/21-windows-xp/

Login also goes to http://www.techguy.org/login.html and populates my ID info.

Perhaps tweaking / checking ID Safe URL for Tech Support Guy may help.

I have not tried http://wallbase.net/

Over the weekend I had two (that I know of) sites that fell off the ID Safe tracks.

My webmail account and oddly Norton Community.

In both instances the rendered URL for each site differed from my ID Safe URL

I created a New Login manually for each site with the new URL ... that fixed em'.

I've had to tweak or redo Logins from time to time.   I also have one site that worked one day and not the next.

Have been unable to reconcile why that site stopped working other than something must have changed.

fwiw  $.02

edit:  Tried http://wallbase.net/  with similiar results as Phil_D

ID Safe saved my email as User ID.   But, even after correcting.  Unable to make ID Safe work with http://wallbase.net/  Interesting, URL does not change for Login or Register (Firefox with all scripts allowed)

Hello All

I would like to say a very big thank you to Phil_D and bjm_ for taking both the time and, trouble to research the two web sites I was experiencing problems with regarding Norton's Identity Safe.

It is reassuring to know that it was not an error on my part and, I can accept the fact that the two web sites in question have their own peculiar way of logging-in.

Phil_D, I would be most grateful if you would report these sites to the Symantec Team as it may benefit all users in the future.
