I am running NAV 2010 on Vista Home Basic Edition, Service Pack 2.
- a clean and problem-free installation, all updates downloaded and installed
- FSS scheduled "When Idle"
- Idle Time Scans set to "Weekly".
FSS ran for the first time from the beginning to the end when computer was in idle state. After this, in the "Norton Tasks" screen Idle Full System Scan is listed as follows:
Last run: never
Duration: -
Ran during idle: no
Status: not run
FSS starts all over the next time computer reaches the idle state. FSS is not interrupted when computer quits the idle state and continues on foreground. Whether I stop it or let it finish, the Idle FSS status does not change and it would re-start all over the next time computer is idle.
I would appreciate any insight as to what kind of situation this describes. For now, I scheduled the FSS to weekly and turned Idle Time Scans (one of the best features of this product) off.
A minor thing, still it's bizarre. After the installation, I removed the NAV icon from my desktop. When I rebooted, the icon was restored which does not happen with other products.
Thank you.
