Idle scheduled scan not automatically running since NIS2012 installed.

Until recently I was running NIS2011 and never had a problem with my regular Friday night Full System scans. It would begin at 7.00 p.m. as I am always out for the evening when that happens. I would arrive home and find the Norton window on my desktop with the results of the scan. Excellent!

I was recently offered the opportunity to upgrade to NIS2012 and took it. (In hindsight, perhaps I'm sorry I did!) I have not been able to get the upgrade to automatically scan my system on Friday evenings when I am out. When I get home the desktop is clear of the Norton scan window, That has happened three Fridays in a row.

I have been in touch with E-Mail Help and was advised to download the Remove and Reinstalll tool, which I have done. The uninstall and reinstall of NIS2012 when without incident, but I was surprised to find the Friday night scan settings still present after the reinstall had finished.

I have tried verious experiments, such as setting the Full System scan to the equivalent of  'No Scan', rebooting the system, then setting up the parameters correctly again for a time when the computer would be idle but that didn't make any difference.

With NIS2011 I was able to run a screesaver during the Friday night scanning time and wonder whether that might be upsetting NIS2012?

There is one other strange anomaly. It seems as if NIS2012 is scanning my system on a daily basis; i.e the 'Last Scan' seems to always refer to the current day's date. Is that normal and could that upset a scheduled scan?

I also read on the Forum here that a Windows 'Scheduled Tasks' setting in Control Panel for Norton scans could confuse the scheduled setting in NIS2012 so I have deleted it (the Windows setting, that is).

I am really puzzled as to why I am haviing this problem and hope someone can assist. Thank you.
