Idle time optimizer

In Norton 360, the Norton Service is consuming huge amount of CPU and Power showing “VERY HIGH” almost constantly. How do I disable this “servcie” or as some have posted, disable the “idle time optimizer”.

My Norton settings does not have a “Administrative Settings” as some have said to use, as in the below instructions..

To disable Norton’s Idle Time Optimizer in Windows 10, navigate to Settings > Administrative Settings > Norton Tasks and toggle the “Idle Time Optimizer” switch to the off position, then click “Apply” and “OK”.

@Al_Watson Unfortunate as it is there are no support documents for the 25.xx version release. Other who are using that version ( I DO NOT ) may have input for helping. This link is the one I can find, its for the versions prior to version 24.xx and 25.xx . This issue regarding missing support documentation has been reported as well.

These were my suggested settings with version 24.xx when it was released months ago.

Thanks for you post. I had already set idle time to the 30 minute max. Just wish there was some way to turn it completely off.
