Dear Mr Weiss,

Sorry I was not able to make myself clear.

Let me explained again.

Whenever my PC is Idle, a sign (on the bottom Right hand corner of the task Bar), appear stating that NORTON IS PERFORMING BACKGROUND TASK, and when I move my mouse, or tap my keyboard, the sign will disappear.

However, I reinstalled NIS2009, but now the "sign" doesn't appear whenever my PC is idle. But now it doesn't appear regardless how I maddle with the settings.

P/S :- The Silent Mode is OFF.

Let me know if you still have any problems with my explaination, I shall see if I can provide you with graphic illustrations.

Thank you.

Dear Norton Experts.

Can anyone advice?  It seems that I used to have a sign POP up to advice that my computer is in Idle State, however, apparently it has ease working after I unistall it (due to some problems with LiveUpdates).

The TURN ON SILENT Mode is turned off.

BTW, how do you use IDLE FULL SYSTEM SCAN?

Thank you

I see what you mean.

Could you please open your NIS. Than go to  CPU usage (it's on the left)

Than have a look in the background jobs for idle quick scan or idle full scan.

What does it tell you?

Dear Stu,

I wanted to attach a jpeg pic of my CPU usage.....But I cannot seems to be able to do it.  How can I attached it.

Thank you

Dear Mr Weiss,

Thank you...Do all users have to go thru all this hassle in order to paste a picture on this message board....Symantec should simplified it.

Anyway, you may have misunderstood me, all I need is to paste a pic using Print Screen and Xnview, into ths message board.

You can refer to this link, scroll to the buttom, you'll see STU has a paste screen onto this message board....How to do that?

Thank you

Hi Sea_Monster,

You do that exactly as desribed in the thread Tony linked. At this time, that is the only solution.   You will be happy to know, that we have this item on the list of requested enhancements already.

Dear Allen,

Guess that is no other ways to do it.....  I shall try it at tonight.  In the meantime, I really hope that this feature will be available soon....

Simplity is the key.....as in NIS2009.  A huge improvement from previous versions.

Thank you.

P/S:- If I have problems (with this matter)....who can I asked?

Regards,

Hi Sea_Monster, I'm unclear on what you mean here. Are you saying that a NIS window used to appear when your system would be in an Idle state? When did this used to happen? Earlier when using NIS2009? With previous versions? Additionally, what has "...ease working after I uninstall it..."? And what is IT that is uninstalled? Additionally, what are the problems you have with LiveUpdate? I apologize for my misunderstanding. Any clarification you can provide is appreciated. Thanks!
