Since IE8 is still BETA, you may experience issues with product compatibility. Until IE8 is released, there may continue to be compatibility issues between our released products and the Beta software. Perhaps other customers have experienced these same issues and can offer you a workaround.
Iām a bit confused. Why is it a problem that a component from NIS is working very well on a new beta product?
The phishing protection from NIS 2008 is removed by IE 8, beta 2. It is called SmartScrrenFilter. It worked for several hours and then today, the phishing protection of NIS 2008 is turned off again.
I have noticed a few things with this issue, that I have also, since going over to IE 8 Beta 2. I have noticed that only the tracking of the Phishing protection seems to show as it being off. The "checkmark" in the toolbar is still green, showing it to be on, if I'm correct on that?
One suggestion I have as for this issue is for Symantec to have a "Test page" that acts like a Phishing site, but is actually harmless, just to test if the Phishing protection is indeed enabled, or is just being monitored incorrectly as being off.
Just my 2 cents
