IE homepage URL changes to lowercase when IE closes

Since upgrading my NIS using the “New Version Check” option, my default home page in IE changes to lower case when closed.  I have tried resetting using IE and editing the registry directly with the same result.  I have tried deleted cache, clearing histroy etc. to no avail. On my previous contact with Norton support (live chat) I was informed Norton does not do anything to the homepage.

 

I have performed the same upgrade on another PC, with the same result. Norton installs, asks to close IE to continue installing, I close IE and install completes. At this stage there is no problem. Norton presents me with an option to see new features, declined. Norton then runs the activation process, at this stage when closing an IE session the homepage is changed to lower case.
