Hi, I hope this is the correct forum . I have tried other sites to no avail. Thank you in advance for your help. PC is an HP pavilion g7 1260ca Notebook. I have Windows 7 64 bit OS with tons of memory and space . I use 32 bit IE. 64 bit IE is not right for this PC due to a problem outside of this topic which has always been on the PC since I bought it 3 years ago. ( For info re this: I must use" in private viewing" as the temp internet files have to be manually erased. All was fine re IE until Norton version update as below.) 1] I noticed that after I was updated to Norton 360 version 21.4.0.13 that 2 programs were " not responding". 2] IE 11 with update version 11.0.10 KB ( 2962872) works well and closes well. But after 1 to 3 seconds a message appears on my Desktop saying " IE is not responding"…it checks for a solution and then says to close the file. But…I already closed the file??? Note: Compatibility Trouble shooter would not allow IE to Test? It is not in Programs and features??? Please Snip Attachment re Event View information . 3] I have had MBAM pro on my PC for over 1 tear with no problems as I set it for Norton exceptions and Windows Defender exceptions. After Norton version update as above MBAM Pro began to show " not responding" on every use, manual updates and scans. It then was incompatible. I tried to to a clean uninstall but Norton saw the file to do this from MBAN as a medium threat and it is in Norton Quarantine. I uninstalled MBAM and all files for it I could find but wish to reinstall when matter is solved. 5] Should I use Exculsions on Norton for MBAM? 4] Please see Norton snip and MBAM snips. 5] It says, in some places I should not run Windows Defender but feel safer with it. Is this wrong with Norton? Thank you for reading this confusing post. I cannot figure out how a Norton update could cause all this. All your help is much appreciated. atHome34
