Hello-Ihave Win7x64 sp1 and NIS2012 installed. I had IE9 64 bit installed but rolled back to IE8 hoping that would correct my problem but it did not. I had to have two clean installs because of errors caused by me. Presently, whether I use IE864bit or IE864 bit, I get the error message "Security set too high to allow downloading this file". I get this message for all attempts to download any file via IE8/9 64bits. I have set IE Security Zones to Medium and most other settings suggested by Microsoft other than replacing NIS12 with another Security program. I have Google Chrome installed and it had Flash Player installed and I was able to install Microsoft's Silverlight with it. However, these installations are not available to IE.I need support in isolating this problem to a product and how to correct it. Thanks.
Hi,
I not sure this will help, but NIS does not support x64 browsers at this time. Have you tried 32 bit IE?
Dave.
Hello Dave-Thanks for the information. I will attempt to install IE9 32 bits ASAP.
This sounds like an IE notification. It is definitely not something that Norton would pop up. Try the "Reset all zones to default level" button in the Internet Options Security tab and the "Restore advanced settings" button (NOT the "Reset" button) in the Advanced tab to restore your IE settings to their defauts.
Hello All-This was determined to be a software problem by Fry's Electronics computer repair. All efforts to isolate problem/ correct failed via troubleshooting. The final solution was a clean install. The problrm was eliminated. Thanks.
