I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro SP3 with IE8 on my father-in-law's computer since his system crashed earlier. I ensured all updates are installed from MS Update and that everything is working fine (emails, internet, office, etc...) and then I installed Norton AV 2010 after purchasing it for him. Now we notice that iexplore.exe process(es) hang up after a few times browsing the internet. We have to kill the iexplore.exe process to get it working again. I assume I may have to disable the Norton browser add-on which I haven't tried yet, but will there be a fix for this problem in Norton AV 2010 in the near future? The only other add-ons are your usual stuff like search provider, acrobat reader, accelerators, etc. Basically, this is a clean system with just Windows XP, Office 2007, Acrobat Reader, Winzip, and Norton AV 2010. If nothing else, I could just install Google Chrome for him.
Thanks,
Jon.
