I upgraded from NIS 2008 with the addon pack to NIS 2009. I let the installer take care of everything, including removing the previous version and everything was fine except for one thing. Anti spam was not working at all. It didn't even show any activity in the logs. what did show up in the tamper protection log was that Regcure had attempted to delete what it found to be an invalid registry entry. It was in the app paths section and referred to asOELnch.exe. I discovered that this was related to the anti spam component and thought maybe that could be my problem. Here is what I did.
I disbled tamper protection and undid the anti spam integration. Then I cleared all the lists in anti-spam. I then navigated to the registry key in app paths and found that the value given was /asOELnch.exe, just that, nothing more. I edited that to show the full path to the file, exited regedit and rebooted. Then I reintegrated anti spam with outlook express, turned tamper protect back on, and voila, anti spam then worked perfectly.
