If Norton Is So Concerned About Security Why Are They Fingerprinting My Browser?

So I logged into my Norton account and I get a Firefox message that the website just tried to fingerprint my browser.  Not very private or secure Norton!  I've already logged in, you don't need to surreptitiously try to identify me by my computer configuration.  What are you trying to track about your customers that you don't want them to know?

Many financial websites and others do the same thing to identify the browser and device. If you have 2FA set on this is how you can tell the company to trust your device so next time you log in you do not have to go thru the secondary authentication since it is a trusted device.

There may be other purposes I am unaware of that this is being used for and if you can post an image with the link from Guru bjm post it would help identify what you are actually experiencing.
