I've dumped Norton (see my False positives post), and you thieving scum have a years worth of my BullGuard subscription. I'm now using a professional AV/Firewall, that works.
Why has my False positives thread been closed from further comment? Doesn't Norton like negative posts? Closing a thread only forces uses to create more posts. More Norton stupidity.
I've since done some tests of Norton, with a friend, who's job is Cyber security.
We checked four viruses that have appeared in the last month. Norton detected none of them. The most recent new virus detected by Norton was nearly six weeks old! A lot of damage can be done in that time. I suspect that Norton only checks for viruses that are active in the U.S.A., not Europe.
We also accessed some Dark Web sites. These were sites known to be linked to criminal activity. No problem with them, according to Norton, they were perfectly safe. But then it's Norton for Gamers, so I suppose it must allow access to illegal gambling sites.
Norton claims "you are protected" - NOT TRUE!!!
Norton does not detect new viruses or Dark Web sites, but it deletes programs that don't have a digital signature, and it's not even consistent in that behaviour. So what does it do that is useful??
Don't bother to answer - like Norton, it will be "false positive"
