In order to improve compatibility with BOINC alpha testing, I would like to see a feature to declare certain directories of directory trees as intended to be used for testing programs so new they aren't likely to be already in the Symantec/Norton database, and therefore the absence of those programs should not be taken as sufficient reason to delete them - only to ask the user if a copy should be sent to that database, possibly with a note saying what the user knows about which BOINC project it came from.
Something similar may be needed if the user has written and compiled a new program, and wants to start testing it.
