I have encountered a few errors over my past 5 years or so with Norton 360. Each time, the One-Click Support pops up after I restart to scan itself. The idea itself is good, but every single time, the results say that they cannot find and fix the problem and merely bring me to a vague support article either telling me to restart or to uninstall and reinstall Norton. I understand that AV software is deeply integrated into a computer and isn't as easy to fix and diagnose as say Word, but how can rely on it to keep viruses and hackers away if its own error checking is faulty? The system tray icon disappears often when I get an error like 8504, 104-are auto-protect and the firewall still working? I recommend the update of the diagnostic tools and some form of lightweight defenses in the (unlikely) event that N360 stops working. Luckily, the amount of these errors seems to be very low, with only about 4 or 5 in the last 5 years. It is a stable product, compared to competitors (*ahem* McAfee), but if and when it does fail, the solutions are far from stellar.
