Is Norton usually of so little help with problems and questions? I can’t get anyone to give me a straight answer. Norton did stop even conversing with me. I am so disappointed.
t is the error message you are seeing?

Hi Mark-Braaten,
At least your post has been listed and got a reply , I first put a post in yesterday and again today but no listing or reply so I am with you very disappointed.
.
I am an OLD man and have been using Norton products since Norton Utilities 1.0 with DOS 1.x. in 1983. Thank you Peter Norton. I am now using Microsoft Windows 10 on a desktop PC.
.
Somewhere I still have the 360k 5.25" floppy disks (and some disk drives, just in case I need them).
.
Today (November 5th) Norton has kindly “upgraded” my “Norton app experience”. This reminded me that I had received an email 4 weeks ago advising me of this:
.
“Soon you will automatically receive an upgrade to your Norton app experience. We’re making your Norton app easier to use and simpler to set up just the way you want. And you’ll still have the same strong Norton cyber protection you expect, no action required”
.
I have never seen such an incompetent, untested so-called “update” to any of the hundreds of applications I have used in the past 40+ years. The application had even been removed from the system tray.
.
Today I have been unable to access, in several browsers, Microsoft News, cable news channels, the White House website, numerous newspaper websites and even Microsoft Solitaire!
.
Almost every site I have visited has prompted another “Norton popup” advising me that this is a dangerous site and has been blocked. And, in many instances, one cannot unblock it.
.
Purely out of curiosity I took a look at a few “adult oriented” websites and what a surprise - not one one of them caused Norton to find any problems - NO popups.
.
One has to wonder who thought that this would be an improvment to the user experience? They must, surely have discussed it extensively, conducted focus groups among users, budgeted for the costs involved ie. highly qualified staff and an ad campaign in every country on the planet.
.
Oh yeah, they must have spent a year TESTING these improvements, fixing the problems and getting the views of more users at every stage of the process. They DID do that didn’t they?
.
It would appear not. The new GUI is crap, finding solutions to OUR problems is next to impossible. They have introduced difficulties across the board - and WE users can do almost bugger all about them.
.
Previous versions have taken up about a quarter of my screen when I want to run a scan or view the history or firewall rules. Now it consumes most of my screen in windows that are unable to be resized.
.
Norton you have screwed up. It’s November 5th - election day in the U.S.A and Bonfire Night in the U.K… We will NEVER forget this day - it’s also the day that Norton screwed up my computer systems. And if I had some floppy disks of THIS version of Norton 360 I would toss them on the nearest bonfire - Guido Fawkes was never this much of a problem.
.
It’s time to see what else they have “improved” - at my age I have plenty of time on my hands.
