Incorrect error messages installing Firefox 8.0

Running Windows 7-64 on an HP Pavillion G6 laptop, I try to install Firefox 8.0.1. I get an error message saying that I don't have access to Program Files (x86) folder and try another one. So, I create a special folder for it and try to install there. I get an error message saying that there's no enough disk space. I check permissions on the (x86) and they look fine. I check disk space and I have over 150 gigs free. Not only that, but I load Vlan player ot the (x86) folder without a problem. However it louds slow.

And I just now opened up task manager and found that it thinks says I have eight versions of chrome open sucking up terrile amounts of bandwitdth

Any known malware that does this?  Suggestions?
