I keep getting reports for time usage over 24 hours (as much as I'd like 28 hours in a day, I don't think Norton offers a product for that). I know that my kid isn't using the computer, and the computer is hibernating (as opposed to shut off).
This is extremely frustrating, as, not only can I not actually get an accurate idea of how much time is really being used, but my kid also immediately gets the warning of time allocation being reached.
The kid's account is the only account on the machine (not including admin), and the machine is almost never actively shutdown, but is instead hibernated. One would hope that this wouldn't matter.
Is there anything I can do to correct this issue? I pretty much only installed this software to do time monitoring, and so far it is failing at that.
You'll notice several times over 24, and several extremely long days (where I know the machine was hibernating).
It is running Windows XP sp 3, fully patched, and the latest version of the Minder software. The machine was re-imaged in mid December. I have continuous physical access to the machine, so I know that the system time hasn't been altered, and I know that the machine is hibernating.
I used the standard power management control panel app to set the machine to hibernate when the lid is closed.
I'm seeing it also: report shows 26 hours of computer use time in one day. I assuming that this "bug" will affect operation when I begin to enact logon time limits for children...
I haven't received an further information on the issue external to this thread, so no further news so far.
If you enable limits for the kids, this will affect you, as they are instantly in violation of their usage. I receive the notification of exceeding allotted time pretty much as soon as the computer comes up. I have things set up just to warn about exceeding time, so they can just click through and use the machine, but that kind of misses the point.
