This is in the $recycle.bin file and keeps showing up every 5 minutes or so. I've pulled the network cable on it and am using another PC to post with. I emptied the recycle bin and tried to run Norton Power Eraser. I don't know if it did anything or not (had to plug back in the network cable for it to run). The norton window for detecting the trojan hasn't shown up in the last 30 minutes. and I tried plugging in the network cable to see if it would show up. I also notice that in "processes" I have up to 3 "svchost.exe." running and they are hogging up 100% of the CPU. I shut them all down.
I do notice that most of the posts regarding the trojan requires me to paste registries. Is it ok to put USB drives on this infected PC and plug into this PC so I can post them?
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Actually, what I prefer to do is pull off some critical files and just reload windows on this thing. I suppose my first question is are files that are not infected safe to pull of this thing to a USB drive so I can reload windows and get rid of the trojan that way?
