My NIS 2010-2011 expired on my desktop and laptop today. I have tried installing a new copy of NIS2100 bought at Fry's on both computers. I clicked install and Family Tree Maker 2011 started to install on my desktop - Windows 7 and Intel PROset/Wireless on my laptop - Windows XP. I had deleted IE temp files and cookies and install temp file prior to my install attempts. I uninstalled NIS from my desktop and tried to install NIS 2011 again but got the same results. I called help and was told that there is a conflict and that I should have bought upgrade online from Symantec and that I would not have a problem and then was offer a remote install by a professional on both computers for about 50 some dollars. Every year it gets harder and harder to upgrade. I have not used the removal tool yet but guess that is probably in the cards unless someone has a nifty fix.
