Change my PC: How do I uninstall the old NIS PC and then install it on the new PC?
noircito,
Check your MyNortonAccount and see if you have any activations left and write down the KEY that is shown when you click on the entry there or the (+) alongside it.
If you have a spare activation it makes it simpler but don't worry if you have not.
Uninstall the NIS on your old PC and stop using that -- this may liberate an activation and show this but if it does not we can tell you how to get Norton to do this..
Check your new PC for what security application may be installed on it as a trial. If it is NIS as you have now then just enter the key in the box you get when you click on Renew alongside where it shows the remaining days and then on Have existing Key [wording is approximate} and enter the key there.
OK Your way out and you should now show the number of days as before -- if not click on Support / Subscription Status if that is listed.
If your new PC has anything but the NIS you have (apart from the year) then tell us what it is because there are special tools for cleaning up after reinstalling that we can point you to on the website of that product.
If that is the case tell us what it is and we can give you the instructions to follow.
And we can give you a link to a single download file to install with on your new PC after dealing with any security application installed on it but please tell us whether you have NIS 2012 on the old PC or have gone to the newer NIS "2013" or V20 as it is now identified. Click on Support / About for the Version ID which is in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn where n is a number.
Do you use the Identity Safe and want to keep the local copy of the vault on your PC's hard drive?
It sounds complicated but it isn't once we know what you have.
BolandAJ,
I am fairly certain that you cannot install NIS without being online to lelt it contact Norton Servers during the installation.
You do have the retail version of Norton? (Which one is it?) and not one of the Enterprise series? You might find the Enterprise series a good value for that number and I think it allows for the type of installation on a number of PCs. Here's a link to the Enterprise site

Norton OnLine Support can liberate activations after you uninstall the product so I suggest you contact them on the situation unless you are in fact using the Enterprise version.
To contact customer support Click on this link https://www.norton.com/chat and work on from there.
Please let us know how you get on ....
