Installation

I installed version 22.5.4.24 of Norton Security yesterday that involved uninstalling the prior version and installing the new version. On my MacBook Pro, that worked fine. On a Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 machine, the process fell apart. On the Windows 10 machine using IE 11, the nsdownloader.exe downloaded and I clocked on the link to the file. Then another message to run the application at the bottom of the browser screen. No such link. I actually had to search for the product and found it, not very intuitively, in C:\Users\Public\Public Downloads\Norton\{NS2250424--SHPD-FSD51083}

By clicking on the NS-ESD-22.5.4.24.EN.exe file, I was able to uninstall the product and got the message to reboot. After rebooting the install did not continue and I had to go back and reclick the product.  Same problem, slightly worse, on the Windows 8.1 machine that managed to get the product installed manually but then required my to reenter the license key to provide 366 days of protection.

I have been using Norton products for may years and never ran into such a mess. I bought the license key on Amazon. Somewhere in the process of installing that key, the PC installation fell apart entirely.
