Installed new antivirus, but it still says that my subscription has expired

i recently bought the dual protection antivirus for mac 11.0. i had previously installed norton mac antivirus a year ago, and my subscription had expired. after installing the new one, everytime i tried to open it i would get the 'quit unexpectedly' message and whenever i tried to write the product key on the back of the antivirus for windows disk, it kept saying that it was an invalid code. so, i uninstalled it and turned off my firewall in hopes that this would fix it. after installing it again, i was able to open the application, however, it still says that my subscription is expired and the product key is still 'invalid'.

i am using Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8
