Installed Norton 360V3, it damaged my IE7- bad tech support IMHO

A few days ago I installed Norton 360V3- on my 2 XP boxes, no problem, but on my Vista box with IE7, the installation damaged IE so that it couldn't print without getting a strange error message about a script error. All other programs printed OK. Stupidly, i didn't think to run RESTORE before the installation and when I saw the problem, I panicked- got on the phone with a Norton tech. He took over my machine, went into IE7 and did a RESET of it, which didn't work. He then uninstalled my Norton, tried to print again, still didn't work, then concluded that at that point, the problem wasn't due to Norton, so it was out of his hands- that I should call Dell support- I did that, and all they said was uninstall IE7, install IE8 and try again, so I did that, no luck.

I finally woke up and ran restore, back 3 days, then installed IE8, then Norton, and the printing problem seems solved.

Conclusion: from scanning these forums, I suspect there are a lot of problems with Vista and IE7 and Norton. Perhaps, the installatin for Norton should warn about this problem- and, the Norton tech should have said "run RESTORE". In fact, when Norton is about to install, it should say to run  a RESTORE point and warn that if any problems ensue, to run RESTORE to clean it up.

So, I'm back in business, but no pleased- I will be more careful in the future when installing major programs like Norton by running RESTORE first.

So, is there any list of all the problems with installations of Norton? I'll check around here in the forums- but add this one to the list.
