Thanks for your posts - believe it or not as a Guru I have to try to remain "politically correct" - but other volunteer posters (such as you) can be a bit more on the  "politically incorrect" side of things and exprerss your feelings a bit more bluntly!  :smileywink:

Can you remember what files Norton detected an removed during restart.  After the scan.?

Sounds like Norton removed legit file(s) that are infectedmalware files that are still required by Windows.

As for this thread, I have seen it before in the past.

 

Using the Factory partition or recovery discs especially the partition will reformat your drive or working partition so all data will be gone, like emails, photos etc.
