Apologies, this question must have been asked multiple times and I have 'solved it' before, but I am needing to do this now (to update teaching slides following an interface change) and can't find the answer quickly.
I have a program (Simul8) that I know is safe, but Norton stops it installing saying that it has blocked a threat due to a suspicious action from a .tmp file.
I have disabled firewall, antivirus protection and intrusion protection but still the file is being flagged and I can't install the update.

Maybe, Norton Data Protector is blocking .tmp file created by the known safe program installer.

I've had problems working around Data Protector objecting to .tmp files created by a program.
I've had to turn off Data Protector (for example) to install new builds. Even though main executable is signed. Data Protector objects to .tmp files created by the new build installer. Just saying.
