installing if wireless internet only

The forum will not let me open an older topic or thread and post an additional reply, so I am forced to try this new thread.

I BOUGHT a copy of Norton Internet Security 2010 and plan, maybe within a day, to install it on a laptop with Windows XP sp3, currently without any infection file security protection software, but with an installed usb wireless N internet adapter.  I can only get an internet connection by plugging in the wireless N adapter (USB), click the tray icon for the Network Connections, find the available wireless signals, select the signal from the house'es router, enter the encryption key, click the Connect button, wait a few seconds, and I then am wirelessly connected to the internet.  I cannot connect the old laptop directly to the router by wire.

Will this be a problem when (or after) I install NIS 2010 when I need to give the product key and when I activate NIS and when I take the product updates and definition updates in order to continue and complete the entire installation + registration + activation process?  I am wondering what problems might occur when the computer needs to be restarted a few times and the internet connection.
