I recently re-downloaded Norton 360 because I was forced to due a full system recovery. After installing, which took approx. 30mins the program asked to reboot my computer, so I did. After rebooting and loging in the installation didn’t continue where it left off. I double clicked the setup again and a message appeared asking if I wanted to remove pre-existing Norton internet security so I did. After doing so the setup icon was deleted and no Norton software of any kind was found on my computer not even Norton 360. Whats up with that? Now I have to re-download and re-install. Is this a problem with Vista or Norton?
hi Rocco799 - i don’t remember coming across an installation problem like you’ve described. when you say your did a full system recovery, can you elaborate? did you format and reinstall Vista, or did you perform some type of manufacturer “recovery” procedure? i’d recommend trying to install again after running the norton removal tool located here:
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
if that fails, can you confirm the version of Vista and whether you have SP1 installed?
