I had a current NIS 2009 on a laptop that is broken and will never be used again, my subscription to NIS 2009 is up the end of December 2009.
1. Should I install 2009 on a new Windows 7 64 bit laptop that I will be getting or should I install NIS 2010 using the current key from NIS 2009?
I will be purchasing NIS 2010 at the end of December when my subscription to NIS 2009 runs out (I just buy a new one every year using the available rebates at Frys).
I want to lease amount of trouble, but I don't want my subscription when I buy the new NIS 2010 to be less than for 1 year.
You should install 2010 using your present 2009 product key and leave using any new 2010 key until the day the old subscription is expiring..
Thanks for the answer, that is what I thought. Should I go and purchase 2010 and use the install cd from it AND my 2009 key? Will that work until the end of December and then use the same cd to reinstall and use my 2010 key? I really don't want to screw this up.
Download NIS 2010 from this LINK, and install it on your new Windows 7 laptop. You can use the Product Key of NIS 2009 for activating NIS 2010, you can get it from your Norton Account. You can purchase new NIS 2010 when the current subscription expires, and activate(renew) NIS 2010 using the new Product key, thus continue using NIS 2010. There won't be any problem in doing like this.
