Installing Norton 360 on another computer

I recently renewed my subcription to Norton 360 on my computer, but cant get it to download to a second computer.  The other computer has Norton Antivirus.  Does this matter?  I keep coming up with a certificate error.

Hi 76bowman,

Please clarify, the second computer you are trying to download N 360 onto already has NAV installed and the computer with the NAV installed is throwing the cert error?

yes that is correct

Hi 76bowman,

If you use Identity Safe for your Logins, please back it up (export) the data so it can be Restored (Imported) after you install a fresh copy of N 360.

Plese remove the copy of NAV you have installed, using the Control Panel uninstall via Add/Remove or Programs & Features.

Download and run the Norton Remvoal Tool once and reboot after it is completed. The NRT can be found here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?docid=kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us&lg=english&ct=united+states&product=home&version=1&pvid=f-home&entsrc=redirect_pubweb

Navigate to www.nortonaccount.com on that computer and click on the yellow download button.  This should download , instal and activate a fresh copy of N 360 on your system.

Please run liveupdate (rebooting when requested) until it reposnds "no updates found".

Let us know how it goes.

I'm having a similar problem.  i have one seat left, which I'm trying to install on my laptop.  After I start the download a message screen comes that reads " Norton Download Manager has encounter a problem and needs to close,,,,"  I've tried numerous times and get the same result.

Worked great, thanks for the help

Hi,

What are the errors?

Can you tell us which version of Windows the troubled computer has?

Does that computer currently have any AV installed?  What did it have, including any trial software?  Most AVs have a special removal tool that cleans up any parts of the program not removed by uninstalling just from Windows Control Panel.  If you can tell us about any other AVs this computer has had we can point you to it's removal tool.

If there are no other AVs causing the problem you can try downloading directly from the following link.

Let us know how things go.

Thanks.
