Installing Norton Program on SD Card in Windows 10

I really need to know if I can install these program files on a SD Card and it run properly.

I am on a HP x2 Detachable 10 and running Windows 10. Since I only have 25 GB memory I am in the middle of setting up storage space on a 32 GB Micro SD Card.

I have usage of a good bit of programs and I am looking into installing them all on my SD Card if possible.

*I know I can do this with Apps, I personally hate apps and am more program-friendly the way it used to be! If there is a solution to this I would greatly appreciate any and all help received!! Thanks so much!

I should have added that perhaps you could try it with a simple application? So don't take my thoughts as gospel!

And please let us know what you find out -- that's what the Forums are all about: users helping users.

Thanks so much for the help! Everything I could find on my work breaks today pointed to simply trying to install on the SD Card or trying to permanently mount it to my device, which I would rather not try to do that myself.

I appreciate your help!

I can't say positively whether you can or not but some points from my experience:

1 -- Windows will sometimes accept the installation of a program on other than the boot to drive, usually C: but it does not like it and will sometimes continue to put related files where it wants to.

2 -- I have an ASUS T200 64GB hybrid with pull off keyboard unit (the only civilized form of convertible in my opinion) and you cannot install and run programs on the add-on drive (HDD or SSD) that there is provision for in the keyboard base unit because it links to the screen unit via USB and not the normal way for drives to connect to the system.

3 -- You cannot boot to a USB flash drive unless the USB connection is USB3 and the flash drive is what is known as OTG (On the Go)

Whether any of that relates to your HP I don't know  and you could check out the User Forums on the HP website (I have great difficulty with HP websites if I use IE but Firefox works great).

You certainly might be able to store data files from applications on the USB -- I was lucky that I was able to get the 64GB version of my unit and still have about 30GB spare!
