I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (Android™ 6.0 Marshmallow) for my son. This is my very first Android product.
I setup the tablet with myself as the owner and my son as a user. Notably, my son will be the primary user of the device.
I installed Norton Security & Antivirus under the owner profile. Thereafter, I installed Norton Family (child) under the user profile dedicated for my son.
When I log into my account online account at my.norton.com, I see 2 devices listed for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (Samsung_SM-T580 and Jaydon Holmes SM-T580). The User SM-T580 is listed as not protected.
My question--
Is the device protected regardless of where Norton Security & Antivirus is installed (e.g. owner profile or user profile); or
Does Norton Security & Antivirus truly need to be installed under each separate profile to work correctly.
I have no experience with Android devices with multiple user profiles. If you log into your son's profile, see if you can see any indication that Norton is installed and working.
If not, you can try installing again within your son's profile.

I searched on multiple users on Android devices and came up with this page that explains how to set up the restricted users (part way down the page). This may explain how to allow the Norton Application to run in the child's profile.
Yes - Jaydon is assigned the user account on the tablet. When I click on the user account, i receive the following message "issue found - No security products found on your device."
However, Norton Security Premium is installed under my profile (owner).
Considering it is my son's tablet and he will be the primary user, I am wondering if I should install Norton Security Premium under the his profile (user) or if the tablet is covered with Norton being installed under the owner profile.
