I have NIS20 with a 3-PC license, and have used only 1. I'm adding a second PC. Can I just use the latest install file I've already downloaded, install it on PC #2, and then enter the same key code from PC #1, and then activate? Or do you have to go to Norton Management and download it again to PC #2 through that interface?
Second question:
If I were to install a new hard drive on PC #1 (or reformat the current drive), and then reinstall NIS, key code and activate, will NIS see that as yet another use of the license and use up my third one? If so, how do you prevent that? Thanks!
<< Or do you have to go to Norton Management and download it again to PC #2 through that interface? >>
One thing about using Norton Management to download is that it should always give you the latest version that is available for download so now you would get V21/2014 and not the V20/2012 that you have installed on PC #1
Since V21 is only just released many prefer to wait a while and I'd think you would want to unless you wanted to try it out on the new PC knowing that early on in its history you can go back to factory condition without too much heartache about what you have changed over time.
And remember that most new PCs come with some sort of trial installation of a security application -- often but not always Norton. You will need to not only uninstall in the usual way in Windows but also run a clean up tool if you tell us what comes on the new PC -- is it going to be Windows 7 or 8? That might affect what you want to do about 20 / 21?
