Installing on Iexplore on 64bit version but have the original installed on iexplore 32 bit -

I installed Norton 360. Ver 5.1 on IExplorer 32 bit version.  Was having problems with some programs not running on the 32 bit version of IExplorer and switched to using Iexplorer 64bit.  Norton toolbar doesn't show up on the 64bit version of Iexplorer.

Do I have to reinstall the product, and will it use up licenses installing first on 32bit and now on 64bit

Welcome

Uninstall 360 from the control panel, then use the NOrton Removal Tool to complete the removal. Reboot and run the removal tool one more time the be positive the system is clean. Reboot and do a clean install. This should not change the number of licenses you have. If there is a change please contact customer support via the chat feature and they will get everything set straight.

Hope this helps

Hello mhp317912,

If I understand your situation, Norton ran okay on IE 32 bit, but other programs had issues and that is why you are using IE 64 bit.

Unfortunately, the Norton Toolbar is not yet compatible with any 64 bit browsers.

Hi mhp317912,

The Norton Toolbar is only compatitble with 32-bit browsers.  You cannot use it with IE 64-bit.  This is actually true of many, if not most, add-ons - so I am a little surprised that you were having trouble with programs on the 32-bit browser.  It should be the other way around.

Thanks, that is the problem.  Running under IExplorer 64 bit....any one have any idea when compatibility with 64Bit IExplorer will be available

I don't know the answer to that, but at the moment, there are very few add-ons for 64 bit browsers.

The only add-on I have installed is Java.

Thanks Phil.

Another problem with software and hardware is that some compugterse have proprietary hardware.   Like my Acer.  Intel had the update for their Adapter and Acer is far behind.......when it came to Adobe Flash and IExplorer with problems...

Darn proprietary hardware vendors.... If I had only known.

Don't be too hard on yourself. We're all in the same boat. I'm learning more about how little I really know every day. Every vendor has to do something a little different in order to keep the brand from becoming 'generic'

Learn the limitations and live with them. Those that can't be lived with I work to change. The wisdom is in knowing which is which :smileywink:
