My daughters Instant Messaging hasn't worked for a while. It keeps saying that there "is no activity in the last 7 days" when in fact he is on it all the time. The icon is on her computer and I've even tried to reinstall Online Family and it hasn't worked.
My kids use Windows live and I think in options there is something about being able to see one anothers friends lists ,you might want to look at the settings in the IM service.Hope it helps.
Hi and thanks for the response, the one kid profile that its logging under is a yahoo account, while they both have messengers installed on there laptops only the one (kid2) uses messenger. I guess I can be thankful that it pulled the account at least even though it is not with the right child profile. I think Safety Minder is great (once all the kinks are worked out), I have found that you can talk and talk to kids and they will do what they want any way this tool has severely limited the exposed my kids "can expose themselves online" and for that I am happy.
Would definitely like to here from Norton as to where they think Safety minder went wrong or if deleting and reinstalling a profile might be a solution.
It's a game of patience sometimes waiting for a reply as the Symantec employees in Red do this in a voluntary way(correct if I am wrong) so all I can say is hang in and wait. And they will get to you.
Ok this seems a bit confusing and probably wrong, kid1 and kid2 settings.
If you could send me screen shots to my work email address (in my profile), I can give a better response. Right now it's not making a lot of sense how it would work this way.

Yes, that button was on. I stopped getting her instant messages back in October and have been trying on and off to figure out what went wrong. She has AIM on her computer and that was being monitored before.
I would be more than happy to setup a remote desktop access and work together with you on this. You're welcome to send me a private message or an email for details. You can find my email address at http://community.norton.com/norton/profile?user.id=15038
Was this ever resolved as I have a very similar problem? I have just installed OnlineFamily.Norton and have set up everything fine apart from IM monitoring.
I'm on XP on two PCs and everything is enabled. My son uses Windows Live Messenger, but it says that he has no accounts and no contacts and does not list any activity?
Please bear in mind that I only installed it the first time yesterday on one PC and the day before on the other just after I installed NIS 2010 on both. Has a new version been released since then?
OK, I've un-installed this on one PC and re-installed.
When I go online and look at settings it still says "No IM accounts currently found for <childsname>" . Could you please clarify when IM accounts are discovered? Is this:
when the software is installed?
when the child logs in to their account on each PC?
