Okay heres the thing. I'm 32 years old, the other night I let my 24yr old cousin surf the net while I was away from my computer eating dinner.
Next morning I checked Internet to make sure he didnt download something or view any inappropriate sites. He did so now I really need a filter. I mean I myself have been fine for years (surfing the net) but I'm trying to protect myself, as well as him
Has anyone ever heard of the program Safe Eyes? Apparently its Christian based but I'm trying to decide on which software to buy: Norton Online Family or Safe Eyes.
You see, again I'm really looking for a specific filter, the other addtiives are just icing on the cake. I also dont want to be forced into "monthly reports" and I'll be using the product for myself; not setting up Children Accounts or time frames.
So perhaps a 20 questionairre is in order:
1-How many categories does Norton Online Family filter? I've heard some programs do 25, some do 35 so how much?
2-Can I skip setting up Kids' accounts and such and just install it for myself?
3-Can I skip the monthly email reports? Or again can I use the product mainly for me and if anything have the email reports sent to my own address?
lol Ok I think thats all the questions for now; thanks
Thanks for being interested in the program. Below are the answers to your questions.
1. Below is the screen shot of the Web category screen. You can block or allow websites by these categories. In addition, the program also have the functionalities that allow you to allow or block individual websites.
2. You need to create a profile online for yourself as a child.
3. Yes. To skip monthly email reports: Uncheck the options at Notification Preferences session under Manage Account.
45 Categories wow I think thats more than the Christian Software program.
I also see that Online Family has a "Trial' so I'm gonna download that next Monday.
But as far as the "testing the site URL first" method goes. While I understand it gives out a rating factor and I tested 2 sites I'm aware of: one site was accurate in the category section but the other website didnt.
Will I have a tool to have someone categorize a website? Meaning can I submit some kind of feedback and say "this URL is categorized improperly, could you please classify this better"?????

What does it mean when you said "the other website didn't --- Do you mean the other website is rated as Uncategorized?
You mentioned: "Can I PM you the address right now ?"
