Greetings all
After I installed Norton Internet Security 2009 I cannot access the Internet.
My operating system is Windows Vista with the latest updates from Windows Update installed (so I presume that SP1 is the latest fix).
Both the Windows Firewall and Windows Defender have been automatically turned off after I installed Norton, so there's no compatibility issue.
I tried all of the usual remedies and none worked.
Specifically:
- under Smart Firewall, Program Control, every single option is set as "Allow";
- under Intrusion Prevention, Intrusion Exclusion, all Signature Names are ticked;
- under Intrusion Prevention, Intrusion AutoBlock, there's no computer currently blocked by AutoBlock.
However, the internet access is restored when the Intrusion Prevention is turned off. I'm not comfortable letting the Intrusion Prevention be off, so I'm asking for help.
There must be a further settings in Intrusion Prevention that would allow me to access the internet.
If anybody could help, I would be grateful.
