I've searched around online for a while for a solution but haven't found anything that has worked.
Out of nowhere recently, every time I open an Internet browser for more than a few seconds or try to navigate anywhere, everything on my computer freezes up and I have to hold the power button to force a shutdown. I normally use Google Chrome and was thinking it was just an incompatibility issue between Chrome and NIS, but other browsers have crashed my computer as well.
I have tried updating NIS and uninstalling/reinstalling NIS but it always does the same thing. In fact, the only way I could get online to type this out was by leaving NIS uninstalled (at which point everything runs smoothly on my computer).
Any idea as to what could be the problem or things I could do to test issues? Thanks!
I use Norton Internet Security 2012 version 19.5.1.2, my operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, my browser is Google Chrome version 17.0.963.79, I do not use any other security products, and Norton Power Eraser did not detect any threats.
