Internet Download Manager And norton Internet Security 2012

So when i download a file with Internet Download Manager (its a speed download manager)

Once its finished norton dosnt run an insight scan on the file so it just gets through insight and then norton has to rely on scanning instead. Is there a way that when The download manager downloads a file that norton can run an insight scan on the file and also a second problem i have Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 (64bit) is nortons anti-spam toolbar compatible with this

Hi,

can you please make a screenshot about the AV settings of IDM? It would be easier for us how to configure Norton to scan the downloaded files. However I think Norton will still scan them, just not with Download Insight. Instead of that Norton will scan it with SONAR and Auto-Protect security layers.

The same is for Outlook 2010 x64: there's no toolbar / plugin for Outlook x64, but Email Antivirus Scan will still analyse incoming and outgoing mails on the standard SMTP and POP3 protocols.

so as you can see the program can handle norton. I can make norton do a custom scan on the downloaded file but i dont know how to make it do a Insight scan instead. So whats the command parameter to make norton do an insight scan on that custom file.

Let's try this:

Virus scanner program: C:\Program Files\Norton Productname\Engine\Productversion\navw32.exe

Command line parameters: For this time let it be empty.

Let us know the results.

I get a norton on demand scan if i leave it blank

. If i do /S I get a custom scan.

but Im wanting an insight scan really where it appears in the bottom right and uses insight to analysed the file origins and forth like it would in internet explorer or firefox.

I think Insight scan can not be done by this method. That is a really special scan option, and it is only available for special file types, like msi installers and exe-s. For the main downloads (usually music and movie files) the simple on-demand scans are enough too.
