I have Norton 360 Premier installed on a brand new Dell N5110 laptop.
I also have Internet Explorer 8 and ever since I installed Norton, nine times out of 10, when I launch IE, before it even fully finishes loading, it will say "Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem has caused Internet Explorer to stop working, it will be closed and notify you when there is a solution to the problem.".... but it notifys me of a solution. And it just keeps crashing everytime I try to get on the internet. I never had this problem before installing Norton!!!

Since we don't have much detail as to how McAfee was uninstalled, I would suggest running their Removal Tool to clear up any leftover remnants of the program.
I have had occasion to reset IE8 and suffered no ill effects from doing so. Enabled Add-ons will not be removed, but reset to disabled. You should make note of which Add-ons are currently enabled, as they will need to be re-enabled after the reset. (IE8 > Tools > Manage Add-ons)
If you are going to reset IE8 to the default settings, please read this KB Article to be sure you understand and accept the ramifications of a reset. Be sure all Symantec / Norton add-ons are enabled.
