Internet Explorer History Cleanup New in NIS 22?

A few hours ago I found I had been automatically updated from NIS 21 to 22.

In reviewing my settings to see if anything had been changed, I saw something called Internet Explorer History that said it "Removes traces of your recent Internet Explorer browsing activities."

Can someone confirm that this is a new feature for NIS?  It is one I most definitely do NOT want enabled, so I'm sure glad I saw it and noticed that it was turned on by default!  I would have been VERY unhappy had I suddenly discovered that at some point all my IE History had been deleted!  I depend quite heavily on maintaining maximum browser history for remembering, reconstructing, etc.  I notice that there is a similar option for Firefox at the Administrative Settings which was (logically, in this case) disabled by default.  FF is my default browser, so losing that history would have been even a lot worse than IE.  I can't imagine that, as the help files suggest, simply removing the FF history file does anything to "Let your PC run smoothly and efficiently."  It might help for privacy concerns on a shared computer maybe, but surely not performance??
