I bought a renewal subscription on August 15th, but my computer is not recognizing it and says my coverage has expired. There is no option to download the new subscription in my profile, and when I follow the Norton website's instructions to go into my Norton program and verify my subscription status, it just says the following:
"Status Check Complete
We have verified your subscription to Norton Internet Security.
Your subscription information is listed below.
Your subscription status
You have 0 days of subscription remaining."
How do I get it to recognize that I DO in fact have a subscription? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reply, Hugh. Yes, I am positive I bought a renewal instead of a new copy. I did it several days ago when my Norton put up one of the alerts, and I clicked "Renew", after which it brought me to a page in Firefox where I completed the transaction for the renewal. Everything went fine when I bought the product, but afterward the program still never recognized that I had purchased a renewal. It kept sending me alerts every day that I needed to renew, but I figured since I had already purchased another year's subscription, it would start up automatically after the last day of my old subscription. Here's what it says on my account page:
Product Name Licensed Installs Automatic Renewal Status Delivery Price
Norton™ Internet Security 2010 Windows 7 / XP / XP Pro / Vista
OK, well now I feel retarded. I actually never opened the order confirmation email... Figuring it was just a receipt, I sent it to my saved mail folder without reading it. When I opened it up just now, I saw that there was a little code down at the bottom that I needed to enter in order to complete the subscription update. I just did that now, and Norton is now saying I have a year left on my subscription (yay!).
I renewed my Norton on 9/6/2011 and it does not recognize the renewal and I have proof of my renewal which cost me $79.00 for three years and my bank called me to verify that I was the one who place this order and it was paid on 9/6/2011. Now I do not make it a habit paying for something that I do not receive. My Norton services keeps telling me that I have so many days left and I have already paid for three years. I hope and pray that someone at the main office can correct this problem before I use some other source to correct the problem which I don't believe Norton would like what I do. Thanks Frank L.

You did renew and not purchase a copy and use the new KEY? Did you renew iwth Norotn OnLine and are you sure it was a renewal and not a purchase because I think the OnLine price for a renewal of NIS 2011 is a little less than that.
If you did purchase a new copy by mistake then Customer Support can almost certainly rectify that since we have reports of them crediting back the difference. But if you did purchase then as you can see from this thread you should have received an email with the KEY in it and you need to enter that KEY in the Subscribe / Renew box where there is a place for an "existing key" ....

Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.
