Internet Security 2011 Performance Pack

Hi all.

I have I have the Norton Internet Security 2011 Performance Pack installed on Windows 10. Do I need to update Norton any time soon? Thank you.

Hello

A Norton product from 2011 would not install on a Windows 10 computer. It must have been updated for Windows 10.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

Hi Bill Elkins:

Please confirm your Norton product name and version number (go to Support | About - I think the last version released for Norton 2011 was v18.7.2.3) and let us know what other software was bundled with your Performance Pack (e.g., Norton Utilities, Norton Ghost, Norton , etc.).

If you have Norton Internet Security (2011) v18.x it is is several years out-of-date and has not been patched for the critical security vulnerabilites listed in the June 2016 Symantec security advisory SYM16-010.  As long as you have an active subscription for your Norton product you are eligible for a free upgrade to the latest available version (currently v22.11.2.7) at any time, and I would recommend you do so as soon as possible.

When you post back also answer the following so we can suggest the best method for performing your upgrade:

  • What is your default browser?
  • How many days are remaining on your current subscription?
  • Does Windows list LiveUpdate as an installed program ?  Go to Start | All Programs or see <here>.  The LiveUpdate module is built in to newer versions of NIS but some older versions used to have a standalone LiveUpdate program that was listed separately from the main NIS program.
  • Finally, do you use Norton Identity Safe to manage your online passwords?  If yes, do you still use a local vault to store your passwords on your hard drive?  I believe the last version of NIS to offer the local vault was NIS (2012) v19.x - newer versions of NIS only offer an online vault that stores encrypted passwords on the Norton servers.
