REcently internet security updated and applied a hotfix. Since then the history view opens but just sits there with loading... and never loads any items. All the scans seem to work but without a history to look at it hard to know whats going on.

I would suggest you download and run the Norton Remove & Reisntall Tool. This will uninstall your current copy and install a fresh new copy of NIS.

Did you reboot after this patch which I believe was for firefox users? You could also try clear history and let it start filling up again. Or hold your cursor over the empty space and the missing history might magically show up then....
Well i dont know what goes on now. It suddendly started working this morning when i turned my laptop on. i had done nothing myself. But this afternoon when i came home and turned the computer on again it does not work again.
This morning seemed to bring old interface i think and and this worked. I suppose i going to have to bite the bullet and reinstall it.
Hi, mc0060. I suggest you take Krusty13's advice, and run the Remove and Reinstall Tool.
That should fix the problem, as it will give you a clean install.
