I have 2011 Norton's Internet Security installed on my computer. I just purchased a new 2012 Norton's Internet Security. I have 56 days subscription left on my 2011 version. How do I get credit for those days after installing the 2012 version or do I have to wait til the 2011 version time runs out? If I can add the 2 version times, I should have 421 days of coverage.
This discussion should answer your question...
Here's an excellent post by Tony on the subject too...
Hello Psteak8913
You can start using NIS 2012 right now by using this link and updating to NIS 2012 using the same key as you are currently using. You do not have to wait until your 2011 subscription is almost over. Just do not use the new key from 2012 yet or you will lose the days.

Please remember to run live update to get all updates and then reboot once more. Thanks.
(thanks to Yaso for the links.
If you are having no problems with NIS 2011, you can install 2012 right over the top. First though, please back up your identity safe file.
Once you are close to the end of your subscription period, then you can enter the key for the new NIS 2012 that you have. If you enter the key now, you will lose the remaining days from your old, current subscrition. Thanks.
