I installed Norton's 360 on my fathers PC some time ago. It's been upgraded to NIS a while back, as well as the PC being upgraded from W7 to W10 (home, 64-bit).
I am having some odd issues with the Firewall trust settings. It will not let me join a homegroup and Windows tells me it is connected to a "public" network, regardless of whether I set it to public, private, restricted or full trust.
It is probably overdue to be wiped and have everything reinstalled - it would probably do his PC a world of good. But at least for the time being, I am trying to avoid that option. Any suggestions, quick fixes or work arounds to get the home network behaving as it should?
FYI - it's connected via a LAN cable to a FritzBox 7390. Using the built-in gigabit LAN port on his Gigabyte m/board (890GPA-UD3H).
EDIT: I've tried a Google search for solutions, but nothing seems to come up apart from changing the NIS firewall trust settings. Have tried "Firewall Reset" and weeding out some of the undesirable applications from his PC without success.
