Invalid Product Serial Number

Hi just downloaded a new version of Norton 360.  My old one was about to expire.  The two were not linked through the renew option.

 

Now the (newly) installed version  says i'm not protected; possible action was to accept the online order.  accepting the online order requests serial number from the about menu item which is now returning an invalid serial number.

 

Any ideas how i get around this.

 

I've installed and reboot a number of times to see if the install process needed to be completed before the serial number was updated.  No joy

Norton 360™ Version 5.0
Norton Virus Removal Assurance

 

is This the same as the main product as i have not specifically download the norton virus removal assurance product?
