Issue abstract: Software Update showing invalid results for MS Office versions.
Detailed description:
When running software updater, it is showing that MS Office version 16.0.19127.20264 is out of date. But this is the current, latest, greatest and most likely last version of Office 2016 Microsoft has released. The software update is confusing this version with MS Office 2019.
Product & version number: Norton 360 25.9.10453 (build 25.9.10453.953)
OS details: Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 22H2
Build 19045.6332
What is the error message you are seeing? N/A

@BrockyTaz We recommend NOT using Software Updater for the exact reason you are posting about. You should run updates manually from within your Office Suite or get them directly from Microsoft Windows Updates. Also Office 2016 is due to go end of life October 14th, 2025 the same day as Windows 10 goes end of life.

Good Day SoulAsylum,
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to this post and the warning about the updater. I don’t use the software updater to actually update anything (especially anything MicroSoft related), but I do use it to get an idea of what needs updating. I was just trying to get Norton’s attention and I could not find any email or trouble ticket system.
Thanks and have a great day.
You’re welcome, trying to help as always. If you have not already done so use this Norton site to get to support and report the issue with the addon. I’m sure they’d be more than happy to create a ticket for the dev teams to have a look.

Hi SoulAsylum,
Yeah that was kind of my semi-nefarious plan in posting this. I really miss their email contact system. I really just wanted to let them know about the issue so they could work on it. A Selvakuma.S did reach out via message and email and ask for some debug logs which I created and sent in via the Norton 360 upload mechanism. The responded OK back when I messaged them the ID number so I guess they are working on it.
Have a great week,
Mark B.

Thanks for the post back, you have a great week as well. Please post back with results when you have them, that will go a long way with others seeing what was done to correct the issue in the event it happens with them.

Hi @BrockyTaz
The issue should be fixed now. Please run LiveUpdate and Restart the system and let us know if the issue is fixed.
Thanks!
Hi Selvakumar.S,
Yes. This issue has been fixed. I ran LiveUpdate and then executed the Software Updater and it now shows the Office Suite Software as current and up to date. Thanks for fixing this and have a great week.
