I was told by support that no other security software was needed with NIS. I've always felt that multiple non conflicting security programs are beneficial. Is there any known conflict with these two security programs? Many thanks in advance for any/all advice and comments.

Welcome to the Norton Community.

 

If you want a good on-demand scanner with NO real time protection I would recommend the free version of MalwareBytes and/or SuperAntiSpyware. Both are on-demand only and will not interfere with NIS.

 

Make sure and download/install the FREE version of either or both these products only.
